No cookies, no banner

This website sets no cookies. It stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it, neither for statistics nor advertising nor convenience features.

§ 25(1) TDDDG requires consent for storing information on a device and accessing it. That covers cookies as much as localStorage, tracking pixels and device identifiers. Since none of that happens here, no consent is required, and that is why you see no cookie banner.

The one exception

When you switch language at the top right, the page briefly records your position in your browser’s sessionStorage so that you carry on reading in the same place instead of returning to the top.

That entry holds a number and a section name, no personal data. It never leaves your device, is transmitted to no one, and is deleted immediately after the page loads. Under § 25(2)(2) TDDDG it is strictly necessary to provide the service you requested and therefore requires no consent.

What would change this

Audience measurement here is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device and assigns no persistent identifier, so it does not fall under § 25 TDDDG. The privacy policy has the detail.

If this site were later to use analytics with identifiers, Google Fonts served from Google, Google Maps, YouTube or Vimeo embeds, a Meta pixel or Google reCAPTCHA, consent would be required and this text would have to be replaced.

Until that happens this page stays short. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser at any time regardless; on this site there is simply nothing to clear.
